Shepherd of the Coast has been supporting a missionary family in Romania since 2021.
Rev. Andrew and Megan Fedder are Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod career missionaries based in Bucharest, Romania. Just 90 miles from the border of Ukraine, they have been reaching out to Ukrainian refugees and sharing the Gospel with those who have been suffering since Russia’s unprovoked attack on Ukraine.
As a pastor and theological educator, Rev. Andrew currently works with the Confessional Lutheran Church in Romania and with Lutheran congregations throughout the Balkan-Mediterranean region, including congregations in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Italy. He serves as a pastor to a Lutheran mission, filled with Romanian, Bulgarian and Greek members. He educates, mentors, and encourages local men to work toward ordination, and provides continuing education and counsel to men who have been newly ordained in this region. Pastor Andrew has recounted his visits to congregations throughout the region, especially noting the work of historic Protestant congregations in Sofia, Bulgaria and Katerini, Greece.
